Parent & Family Compact 26-27

Each school that receives Title I, Part A funding must work together with parents to create a School-Parent Compact, which is a written agreement explaining how the school, parents, and students will share the responsibility for supporting student learning and helping every child succeed. As part of the school’s Parent and Family Engagement Plan, the compact outlines what the school will do to support learning, what parents can do at home, how students will take responsibility for their own learning, and how families and the school will partner to help children meet the state’s academic standards. The goal of the compact is to ensure that everyone understands their role in helping students achieve their best.

Commitment From Our School

Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s challenging State academic standards.

We employ highly qualified teachers who deliver rigorous curriculum and instruction. Our educators participate in ongoing professional development to continuously strengthen their skills and deepen their knowledge. We provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students and foster a positive school climate that promotes academic growth and student engagement.

Hold parent-teacher conferences (at least annually in elementary schools) during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.

Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.

Progress reports will be provided to parents quarterly. A parent-teacher conference will be held at the end of the 1st quarter to discuss student progress. Families will participate in our student-led conference at the end of the 2nd quarter. Teachers also communicate with parents throughout the school year through quarterly interim reports, progress notes and schedule conferences to discuss their child's progress as needed. nt.

Provide parents with opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class, and to observe classroom activities.

Ensure regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and school staff that is, to the extent practicable, in a language that family members can understand.

by ensuring students arrive at school on time each day, attending parent-teacher conferences, and communicating with the teacher when there are questions or concerns. Parents will review school communications regularly, monitor their child's academic progress, and take time each day to read with their child in any language. Parents will also support their child in completing all assigned homework and seek to understand their individual strengths and needs.
